Hi, I have an aloe vera plant which continues to grow 'babies', so it quite unrulely. Recently when I moved it, I discovered a shoot coming out of the middle of the main aloe plant. It looks like asparagus step and has 3 asparagus tips at the end of it. I have attached a picture if anyone wants to see it. Any ideas what this is? Thanks, A
Yes, I have many aloe plants for years and never seen anything quite like this "stem". Do you know why, is this what they 'become'?
Looks like A. maculata (not A.vera) to me. http://made-in-afrika.com/aloes/maculata.htm Click link to see what they become. HTH Chris
The more exposure to daylight the greater the chance of blooms. All aloes love bright light. It truly amazes one to see an arrow shaped poker come into bloom!
Update: I now have a second aloe plant starting to 'sprout', I have moved it to a sunny location. I'll keep you posted!
Hello! I am new to this site, as I, too, have an aloe plant that is sprouting what looks like a piece of asparagus. :) I've taken two pictures to share.
