Alocasia sp?

    Anyone know what species this is? Alocasia macrorrhiza?

    Looks like it to me but Alistair Hay could verify that in a couple of seconds. Do you have his address?

    It also seems to me like A macrorrhiza

    Thanks, this was taken from Fairchild Gardens in Miami. Gotta admit, that is an impressive spread, made some orchid collector friends of mine drool....we need more Philodendrons with spreads like Alocasia robusta and its ilk....nothing against Alocasias mind you ;-)

    That plant is Alocasia macrorrhizos 'Borneo Giant'.

    Only problem is if we had Philos with spreads like A. robusta, only people in warm places or people with really large greenhouses could grow them properly!
