My neighbor in Austin has an American Agave in his front yard. I was out of town for a couple of weeks earlier this year, and when I came back, it was just there. It was probably over 10 ft tall already, and I was so confused where it came from. He later explained what it was and how fast they grow, and I love watching how much it grows every week. It's crazy to see. I wish I could upload a picture of it in this post, but I don't see a way to.
