I have had this plant for about over a year now and it seems to be doing well. About five months ago it started growing these roots from it's branches which have now anchored themselves securely. I thought that new plants would sprout from there bases but this is not happening, only small side shoots are sprouting from the branches where the root has come from. What should I do with these roots, if anything?
There is a small plant that sprouted independently many months ago very near the base of the parent plant. I am sure it would do better in it's own pot but would it harm either plant if I removed it?
Thanks for your time in advance, zoe

I think the reason that they send out these aerial roots is for stability of the plant, not to produce new plants. The new plant that is growing should be fairly easy to remove with no/little damage done to both plants. Succulents are pretty tough. Good luck.

Thankyou for your reply Ed and reasurance with the plant separation. Now you mention it the stability reason seems to fit in as I am pretty sure it did not start producing these aerial roots until after the plant was knocked off the shelf by the cat. Little damage seemed to have been done but it must have been loosened in the soil.
