Hi! I'm growing some different Adansonia species (Baobabs). Some of my Adansonia Grandidieri are starting to show some weird knob/thorn like development on the stem of the plant. What is this called, and what purpose does it serve in nature? Pictures: The knobs start forming from white protrusions which after a week or two turns brown and hardens.
