Actinotus leucocephalus and Actinotus humilis???

    I wander if Barbara Waldoch and I can have help with identification of the above flowers. I thought that it was Flannel Flower (Actinotus leucocephalus) and Actinotus humilis but... we have no way of confirming that. They were photographed on Gooseberry Hill, Perth, Western Australia, September. There are two different plants.

    Online resources for Actinotus are pretty slim, I see (which I guess is what you ran into). From what little I could find, I'd be fairly certain about the identification of Actinotus leucocephalus. As for the second species, though, I wasn't able to find any close matches.

    Our BG reading room also does not contain any useful references for this question, I'm afraid.

    Thank you very much for that. Barbara will have to try in Australia using local libraries. She could not find a match in any of the books she had either up to date.
