There were not very many. Maybe because the theme, "Jazz It Up" was related to New Orleans the plantings had a southern focus. There were many Magnolia grandifloras and Chionanthus virginicus was getting plenty of attention.

Gil, I found some additional maples in the vendor area. There was an artist there with candle holder with maple as well as other leaves pressed in glass. See pictures below. I was disappointed in the show this year. This is my first time in the last 12 years or so that I did not go on the members preview day. I thought that with the heavy rain yesterday the crowds would not be bad so I decided to go at 3:00 PM. The show was so crowded that it was difficult to see most of the display gardens and for the first time we came across rude people cutting through the lines and stepping in the way when people were taking pictures.
Njacer Rude people were one of the reasons I stopped going. Did you see terrains at styers? You called it. I was thinking about having a maple show in the spring, maybe with a vendor or two. Do you think people would be interested? I know you do a show. Let me know your thoughts. Mike
Mike, Show in spring? I'll be there. Ed, the strategy of going during the worst weather is one i share with you. Blizzards are best. Yesterday's storm didn't seem to deter anyone. I was disappointed and made it a quick tour. I thought the crowd was more civilized than usual. I wonder if the $26 ticket had an effect? I was hoping that Eastwood from Virginia would be there, wasn't. Hope to see you guys this Spring. Alex, glad you liked my pics, i have a basic camera and never seem to get what I'm after at the Flower Show. Gil
