This tree is at UBC Botanical Garden UBC Accession #022840-0013-1983 Photo by Wendy Cutler North garden, near the Amphitheatre May 31, 2012 I read in the maples forum that Acer x conspicuum is a cross between A. davidii and A. pensylvanicum, and even more specifically, this nursery's website says: "A hybrid between A.davidii George Forrest and A.pensylvanicum 'Erythrocladum' found at Hilliers about 1960". It has large leaves.
