    We have somehow managed to neglect a picture with the best feature of this tree: fall color! Here are a few of mine.

    I visited a lovely garden in the States this summer with mature ginalla, bursting with bright red samaras against the dark green leaves. Very striking.

    Gomero, mine showed a lot of variegation this year also.

    Norma, in terms of toughness, this maple is the king. Mine are in a quite soggy and very exposed windy site, and thriving.

    Added permanent redirect from Acer ginnala to this thread.

    There seems to be some variation of opinion as to whether ginnala is a species or sub-species, but as long as both names are discussed in the same place confusion will be minimised.
