We have somehow managed to neglect a picture with the best feature of this tree: fall color! Here are a few of mine. I visited a lovely garden in the States this summer with mature ginalla, bursting with bright red samaras against the dark green leaves. Very striking. Gomero, mine showed a lot of variegation this year also. Norma, in terms of toughness, this maple is the king. Mine are in a quite soggy and very exposed windy site, and thriving. -E
Acer ginnala Added permanent redirect from Acer ginnala to this thread. There seems to be some variation of opinion as to whether ginnala is a species or sub-species, but as long as both names are discussed in the same place confusion will be minimised.
6th April 2022 and my ginnala flame has come on leaps and bounds. I have protected it from the Spring frosts, and as its small it is easy to move. I'm going to enjoy this maple.
4th September 2023 and my little ginnala flame made it through the Summer. Now giving some nice early Autumn colours.
