Here is a weeping sieboldianum that was recently in the maple society newsletter. I had to stake up the branches because they were cascading to the ground. Here is my Seki no kegon on July 26, 2010
Wow, Timnichols, you are really cheering up the forum this summer, keep going! The weeping sieboldianum must be nice in the fall with spectacular red cascades (like the weeping buergerianum). On the other hand I am surprised that nobody had named a sieboldianum weeping selection long time ago since, from my experience, 'weepingness' seems to be not that rare in sieboldianum seedlings. I have two of them growing from a batch of 12 seedlings from 2007 which show the same traits as the 'Seki no kegon'. Gomero
This tree is consistently one of my favorites in fall. It's beautiful year round, but the Apricot/Orange fall color sets it apart for me.
