I've grown this for six years and each fall am amazed at the fall color, the mottled leaf. Is anyone else growing this and seeing the same fall color? I have never seen this on fall coloration in a maple before. I love it. 1-20150906_135941.jpg

I know that this thread is about Acer shirasawanum 'Ruby Red', but to respond to "kaydye"'s post, my Acer shirasawanum 'Autumn Moon' displays the same kind of mottled patterns on the autumn leaves (picture taken this evening).

Is Ruby Red the same tree as Ruby? This is my first fall with Acer japonicum 'Ruby'. She's turning sooner than my other maples.
