I keep receiving conflicting answers about growing a Japanese Maple indoors. I live in Southern California area (zone 8). The area that I want to place the maple, faces east and would receive morning sun lasting until about 11am.

What component of the growth chain would I need to supplement? Temp wise during the summer I keep it about 80 deg and the humidity runs 60+ most of the time. I have a large palm in the same room and mist the leaves daily.

Wrong place to ask, but indoors equals death to a japanese maple.
