Acer pseudoplatanus 'Brilliantissimum'

3rd May 2021 and I wanted to just show that I have flowers on my Brilliantissimum.

 

11th May 2021 and now the leaves are fully out on my Brilliantissimum, well almost !!

 

Here's my little Brilliantissimum and my little mate enjoying it. I planted this in memory of my mother, simply because it has mum in the name.

 

Nothing better to honour the memory of your mum N.

 

23rd April 2022 and my very late Brilliantissimum is making a very welcome appearance in my garden.

 

Late here as well D, mine is just coming out as well. I'd love to take a picture but I fed the lawn the other day and it hasn't rained to wash it in yet, best laid plans and all that, lol.

 

The latest year for leafing out ever where I am N. But being late means the frosts won't hit the new soft leaves.

 

Couldn't wait any longer for the rain so took a few photos.

I love the bluebells that have come up from the old rockery

 

Just got back from out walk amongst the bluebells and opened this message. What a coincidence. Your Brilliantissimum is 'perfect'. If it were me, I would never want to change it in that position N. Not even any bigger!!

I also took a few pictures of Brilliantissimum, here not quite so far along. I laboured getting the colors right on the full picture, and managed to get it only by fading out the deep green bay tree behind it. Too bad! That's Jordan peeking in from the right.


On the subject of bluebells, yesterday saw some white ones mixed in on a bank. Or at least they look like that too me. Does anyone know if these are a different flower, or a mutation?

 

Can't answer the question but I have a few white ones as well, or at least I did last year, not sure where they came from as they just appeared on their own, I assumed my mother planted them but I don't know.

 

They are a genetic mutation E. I have them in my garden, version Alba..

 

18th June 2022 and the leaves are now green and big on my Brilliantissimum.

 

1st May 2023 and mine is just starting to leaf out. Almost 2 weeks later this year.

 

It's strange how people further south than me seem to be behind this season, mine is definitely later than usual though as well.
This was a few days ago.

 

Beautiful N. You must be so pleased with it. Also way more advanced than mine. I think your climate is a little more temperate down West.

 

Must be a gulf stream thing.
