I don't see a picture. Probable Carlton Plants introduction. Try their web site. Meanwhile, I'll look for it in Jacobson, North American Landscape Trees after I get home.
For some reason it's not letting me load them, i'll have to try later. For now, picture a plant that looks identical to the Acer platanoides 'rezek'. They are so close that if not labled i could not tell them apart.
Here is Acer platanoides 'Carlton' pictured in fall color. Plant was found in a seedling bed at Carlton nursery, in Carlton Oregon. This plant is so simular to other dwarf platanoides it is difficult to set them apart. Pics taken 11/5/05
I have not seen Carlton for sell For similar plants consider A platanoides 'Rezek' or 'Curly Lamp Post' I think both are available (at times) in US Keith
I have Marit, Rezek, Curly Lamppost, Green Column. .... Which nursery bred acer Carlton? Carlton Nursery? Or maybe someone has this variety in the garden?
It's from Talon Buchholz. I don't have an origin date, though I'm sure he can provide that to you. All of these look alike to me, and I confess I don't find them very attractive, but there is a (small) collector's market for them. I don't know that 'Carlton' has ever made it over to EU.
