Pretty cool little maple. Leafs out with purple leaves in the spring. It holds the color pretty well. Description from MrMaple Acer palmatum x 'Purple Curl' Japanese Maple
I like the quirkiness of the leaf's shape and colours. May not suit everyone's taste. It looks like a cross between a Starfish and Shirasawanum.
Looks badly diseased to me! Not at all attractive, burnt, crumpled and damaged leaf margins. Does the 'x' in the thread title have any significance?
