Acer palmatum 'Wetumpka Red'

Wetumpka Red is a very nice rich red tree with a good upright growing habit. The color has head its red well in full sun

I want to pick up a Wetumpka Red, too. How did yours fare this year? Has it been as bright throughout the year as it was last year? It seems this plant prefers lots of full sunlight. My "local"(actually 72 miles from my home) nursery has a few. The ones that were under full sun have very nice fall color, but the ones that were more shaded had more bronzy dull dark red colors.

this is my second wetumpka red and this one has the same rich red color as the tree before. last years tree, 2010, had good solid red all year long. it did not seem to fade much.
