The pictures in the link show a pretty maple with distintict character. The 'Dave' in Dave Verkade, is it the same 'Dave' as in Dave's Garden? Gomero
Hi Gomero, I'm not positive but don't think they are the same Daves. Dave V. does have this web site. I met Dave V. one day at Ed Shinn's. Dave does loads of maple propagation and the Verkades have introduced quite a few cultivars.
Gomero, Yup, my maple is a direct graft off of the maple on that link. I'm hoping it will start to look right soon, but the maple hasn't put on any top growth since I got the maple. Like Poetry to Burn, I too met Dave over at Ed's but I do not think Dave Verkade is the same as Dave's Garden. Diane Verkade, Fireball, and Dave Verkade are some of his cultivars, just to name a few.
