Acer palmatum 'Ueno yama'

3rd April 2021 and after watching Luke @Luke’s Maples great YouTube video on Thursday where he was so pleased with his Ueno yama, I thought I would post a photo of mine to show how it's coming along.
Still a fair way behind Lukes, but coming along nicely.

My 'Ueno Yama'! It's more yellow than orange. Can't wait to see how much growth it put on this year.

 

The yellow and orange seems to vary depending on sunlight this one gets I have found. Can look different even in a single day. More sun = more orange. Great fun watching though.

 

16th April 2021 and brilliant sunshine after a severe frost overnight, but this didn't stop my Ueno Yama from giving such pleasure this morning.

 

22nd May 2021 and this wonderful green with those gorgeous pink petioles has now leafed out.

 

2nd June 2021 and the deep greens are now here. Ueno yama has the most beautiful of green IMO.

 

26th June 2021 and my Ueno yama is having a slow year. But the leaves are as green as they should be, so I am happy.

 

29th March 2022 and the season gets underway. Very colourful start this year for my Ueno yama.

 

23rd April 2022 and the colours have changed very quickly on my Ueno yama this year.

 

A little late posting this year but I see this one is consist with showing its lovely yellow color. I will stake it up right soon.

 

10th April 2023 and my Ueno yama is doing well. I'm pleased as it had a slow year in 2022.

 

This is a cultivar that i've really come to appreciate, even though I don't have one. But I keep seeing pictures floating around and it's just lovely!

 

30th March 2024 and my Ueno yama really enjoying the sunshine.
