Here is Acer palmatum 'Shigure bato', a little Matsumurae that resembles a dissectum. The name means "late fall rain".
One of my favorites without hesitation. A semi-dwarf or pretty slow growing spreading tree. The spring pink, yellow, orange hues are some of the best in the palamtum group and the new bright growth in summer is outstanding, with vibrant pink edging. The new growth summer photo was taken August 2004 and the new spring photos are from 4/17/05 and 4/19/05. This tree is 4 years old and is getting sun from the west.
Michael Good to see you back in the forum. My Shigure Bato is also plain green this spring. Pic taken April 17th, 2006. Gomero
