A linearilobum maple that has deep green leaves and dark purple colored stems. This medium upright is a strong grower. Fall colors are yellow and orange. Height to 10 ft.
A very sturdy upright linearilobum. Mine does not have purple stems; they are mostly green. There is also a rubrum form of this tree(although the coloration is more like that of an atropurpureum).
This was the same tree last fall. I'm a bit worried about the blackening on the twigs, but it arrived like that from Conifer Kingdom and when I've cut branches there's no blackening on the inside.
Could have been a little sunburn on the branches if it looked clean inside. The new growth looks strong, which would be unlikely if there was a serious infection.
The samaras on this tree are outstanding-- so many, and so bright. From across the yard it looks like the tree is covered with pink flowers
This is a replacement for the tree I posted last year. It ended up dying, and those branches with the blackening were the first to go. This new tree is putting out some interesting new growth-- very red, and often with wider leaves. It's a very pretty contrast to the old growth.
