Acer palmatum 'Red Wine'

Mine is under the trees, a Prunus and my only palmatum (4 metres tall) in the ground...

 

April 7th 2022 and way behind others on the forum, but it's underway.

 

20th April 2022 and it's catching up now.

 

13th May 2022 and my Red Wine is in full flow today. The leaves are it's normal colours now rather than the red of very early Spring.

 

17th May 2022 and Red Wine with rain drops is one of my favourites.

 

31st May 2022 and as we head into Summer, my Red Wine is changing.

 

16th June 2022 and into Summer colours now, notice the reds have all but dissappeared. Just a hint left..

 

14th November 2022 and my Red Wine has a few nice leaves, but it was hot quite badly through the Summer, so I was happy with what it produced today.

 

10th April 2023 and these leaves really are red wine in colour.

 

16th May 2023 and now fully out in leaf.

 

Mine (bought for some £10 at the local supermarket in England in 2015) has already turned green.
Not the same weather here, and it's in almost full shade - I must prune the lilac tree !...
Mine has always been potted, but it looks quite different from yours. The wood is reddish, though.

Very nice Alain, wonderfull pastel ccolours. Mine gets full sun from morning to night, so I think there is the difference.

 

3rd June 2023 and the full flush of leaves on my Red Wine.

 

My 'Red Wine' is in the shade and is now green (the one with smaller, darker leaves is 'Tama hime') :



PS: I just realised that today's photo is almost identical to the one I posted on May 16th... Anyway, it shows that both are happy where they are ;°)

 

7th September 2023 and some amazing colours this year on my Red Wine.

 

27th March 2024 and my Red Wine is looking so nice this morning with the leaves just unfurling. My daughter now has one of these, as it's such a beautiful maple.
