Well, a switch has been flipped and my little Osakazuki has started going into autumn reds for real. Close-up of the colour-change, and a pic of the whole tree (accompanied by one of my gardening-buddies)
As they say, 'if you've got it, flaunt it,' right? I certainly will if my Osakazuki gets anywhere near as pretty as Alain's this year! ;)
Looking forward to seeing photos if you get a chance, D -- I'm glad I took those pictures yesterday; the heavy rain and wind all night/morning today has stripped so many leaves away from mine, the poor tree is looking distinctly ragged now the sun's come back out. Such a shame that those lovely colours only blaze for a short time when the weather is uncooperative!
I probably said this at this time last year, but I love the yellow-olive of Osakazuki in spring just as much as the autumn reds its famous for. Such pretty leaves in such a gorgeous colour:
Mine is more bronze at this time of the year, different locations different leaves.. Yours looks more like mine in May tbh.
And that's the magic of them, isn't it: same cultivar gives a completely different experience even in the same country! Looking forward to seeing pics of yours as it leafs out!
