Acer palmatum 'Nicholsonii'

Here's my two(three) year old nicholsonii. Holding it's leaves out well, and not even fully colored yet. Getting ready to re-pot this one.

Nicholsonii, May 2 in Rhode Island. I really like this one.

 

This cultivar takes some beating when it comes to the intense reds it produces every year.

Here's an update - in it's seventh year, the color is consistent. I have this in the shade of a sycamore maple. Beautiful tree, very durable

 

Wonderful late colour. Enjoyed seeing this on December 1st when everything here has dropped its leaves.
