I am not sure what to think at this point. the tree has a nice shape. Color now is a red/green but it is new this year and could be full of food. As the summer goes on, I will get more photos of it.

Just purchased a Masu murasaki in a 1 gallon size and planted it out. I am wondering whether I should stake the long branch to try to make have more of a central leader. From reading about it; it seems that it can grow quite tall. I have purchased maples with stakes before but haven't ever tried to do my own. Is there a good model to follow? It's a beautiful tree--love the colors, but it does look floppy to me.
