Acer palmatum 'Lileeanne's Jewel'

24th April 2022 and my Lileeanne's Jewel is getting started. Late Yes, but it has avoided the Spring frosts.

 

1st May 2022 and my Lileeanne's Jewel is now showing itself with all the colours that this cultivar is known for.

 

very growing variety! mine is exposed to the sun, it has a lot of purplish brown, with shade there might be more pink! What do you think?

 

This is the characteristic of this cultivar, those purple browns are not seen in other cultivars. A reason I do like this maple.

 

6th May 2022 and a bit slow to fully leaf out, but worth the wait.

 

18th May 2022 and more variegation has appeared on the leaves now.

 

6th June 2022 and so many variants of pink on my Lileeanne's Jewel. So here are two photos.

 

15th June 2022 and another for @acernoob to consider. This is a gorgeous cultivar all Summer long.

 

Hi, I just found your older post on this forum along with pictures. I am almost positive the plant did not suffer from the heat, it is verticillium wilt which, once on the plant, need to be cured otherwise it can kill the whole plant untreated.

 

Hi @Milan thanks for your post. VW cannot be cured I'm afraid. But so many do survive for years with this.
My Lileeanne's Jewel did get through the year and performed well in 2021 and 22. I will post photos of this cultivar in the Spring of 23 to show how it's doing.

 

Great. I have one in my garden, too. We took some of the first plants when they were exhibited at Plantarium 2019 and they have performed quite well so far, surprisingly free from VW though next to other red-leaved which did suffer.

 

It is a wonderful cultivar, I hope you can post a few photos of yours from there in the Czech Republic in the Spring.

11th May 2023 and the variegation is showing up well this season on my Lileeanne's Jewel.

 

23rd June 2023 and my Lileeanne's Jewel is showing that it can keep its lovely pinks if given enough sun. Not as bright as Spring though.
