Acer palmatum 'Lileeanne's Jewel' was found as a chance seedling by Johnathon Savelich, named after his daughter Lileeanne. It appears to be one of the most stable red uprights with this style of variegation.

Are the variegations pink when the leaves first emerge then these areas becoming white as the season progresses?

This is my first Acer palmatum 'Extravaganza ' and as it isn't in the maple photo gallery, I thought I would add it for future reference.
It has a lovely weeping habit and beautiful varigation to the leaves.
Time will tell if this one is a strong cultivar and I will update this thread over the coming years 'over all seasons'.

Acer palmatum 'Extravaganza ' is very new to me, so thought I would post a different photo of it to start with showing how it looks after a couple of weeks.
As can be seen the leaves are doing what they always do after being in a box and trying to settle in a new area.
I will keep this thread updated as to it's progress. Hopefully over the next couple of years I will post some lovely colours and fresh new growth.
    Photo today 27th July 2020.

My Extravaganza is showing signs of heat damage, so it is important to update the thread to allow people to see how this one is progressing.
34° C for two days and it did not like it at all.
Photos this morning 2nd August 2020.

12th August 2020, my new Extravaganza is not looking so extravagant at all. The continuous extreme heat has knocked this one for six. Basically all the leaves have now shrivelled and are dropping.
I really hope it does not have a long term effect on this cultivar.

Extravaganza is simply the marketing name for ‘Lileeanne’s Jewel’ in Europe. Please put all photos under the original name as named after Del Louck’s relative Lileeanne.

@timnichols good morning Tim, once again another marketing ploy. Thanks for the input. 'Lileeanne's Jewel' it is.

Those pinks will certainly give Deshojo a run for it's money. Lovely tree Ultraman.

I agree that is lovely, but I would compare it more to Shirazz, Gwen’s, Geisha etc rather than Deshojo. I think Hino Tori Nishiki and Beni Maiko are more similar and ‘competitive’. What do you think D?

So many Luke, my thoughts were Deshojo because of Spring. The others tend to be at their best in pinks in June. But it does depend on where you live. Although your photos on the other thread definatly are strong competitors.

20th April 2021 and my Lileeanes Jewel is getting underway for another season. Again a thankyou to Tim @timnichols for the correction on the name last year.

2nd June 2021 and after discussions yesterday with R @dicky5ash here is my Lileeanes Jewel. This was one that got hit badly by the frosts, so is only just starting to push out some new leaves.

17th June 2021 and my Lileeanes Jewel has recovered very well from the April frosts. I'm very pleased to see this tbh as I was a tad worried.

Photos taken today..Some lovely strong pink and white variegation coming through..this tree was sourced from a national garden centre chain rather than from a specialist nursery..I recall some talk about the strong pink was not to be found on certain sources of this cultivar..I am not finding that’s the case

19th July 2021 and the Met office has just released it's first ever heat warning in the UK. So that shows how hot it is. Nothing like BC, but hot enough for maples. My Lileeanes Jewel is showing that they can cope.

Mine is coping too with 30deg + heat, a few slightly brown tips but lots of new growth!

17th September 2021and my Lileeannes Jewel is doing very well. Lots of watering though as it's very dry everywhere atm. I do enjoy seeing the dew on the leaves at this time of the year.
