What a pretty cultivar--but a little overlooked, I think. Can you post some more pictures? Thanks. David
I just got a small 1 gallon of this cultivar. Since its mid-June, the leaves are pretty much dark green. Very small plant with small leaves. Right now, it looks like a kid with tousled hair! K4
Thanks David. Are you keeping yours in the sun or shade? Right now I have mine indoors while it adjusts to its new pot. Since you're in a hot, humid zone like me, I wanted to see what kind of site you were having luck with. I do like the look of this little fellow! Thanks! K4 P.S. Have the Japanese Beetles started attacking in your area yet? They LOVE JMs, unfortunately. I'm trying neem oil this year as a natural insecticide...
Hey K4, I have most of my Japanese Maples in mostly shade right now (the only one that I have in full sun is Beni Hime which LOVES it) and they get some good evening sun--but not too much. I usually leave new plants in the shade (like the carport) for a couple of days to acclimate (although I bring some inside to look at too!) Looks like a wonderful tree. I love the laceleafs as I do the other ones, but there is definitely a certain elegance especially to the laceleafs which I LOVE! I do not even know what Japanese beetles are, but I have not had any diseases or bugs on them except for some white furry stationary things last year that nearly killed a small 1 year Villa Taranto and did kill a Red Dragon (a 2 year--both from Worldplants). So could you post a picture of one of these beetles for me? Thanks! David
Planted in full shade in early spring. I am planning on moving it to a sunnier spot in the fall so it will retain more of the light green coloration.
I moved my lemon lime lace to a sunnier and more exposed location. Hoping to get more yellow in the foliage in the spring. Here it is in the snow, picture taken in December 2021.
