Acer palmatum 'Koto ito komachi'

4th September 2020 and the days seem to be getting shorter and shorter, which is a bit too fast for me. Busy time of the year in the garden for us maple growers, with less daylight !!!
A morning with no dew or rain, but colours now popping up everywhere!!
The pinks are coming fast now on my Koto ito komachi.

 

6th September 2020 and there has been a lot of talk on the maples forum about the strange colours this year. Yes they are strange, but enjoyable to see none the less.
Some sun broke through so this is how my Koto ito komachi looked. So pretty IMO.

 

24th September 2020 and Autumn has really hit home quickly. Cold nights and lots of rain already. But raindrops on colourful leaves is why Autumn is a favorite for so many of us Maple enthusiasts.

 

20th October 2020 and everything is moving along now. Colours emerging every day on my Koto ito Komachi.

 

21st October 2020 and I wanted to show just how quickly the leaves can change colour on these delicate varieties. Blink and you miss it !!

 

25th April 2021 and one of my delicate leafed maples in my collection starting out for Spring. So important to be there to see them when they are like this and to share here.

 

30th April 2021 and after a PM last night, I'm adding this today to show that the frosts have not hit these delicate leaves.

 

21st May 2021 and now my Koto ito Komachi has put out lots of new growth.

 

4th April 2022 and I just love how this cultivar starts out in the Spring. Early days, but its on the way.

 

15th April 2022 and now my Koto ito komachi is catching up with others on the forum.

 

9th November 2022 and not too many leaves after a difficult year, but some to show at least.
