This one leafed out really hairy. It have held its hairiness for a while now. Which I think its very cool. It seemed to struggle a bit last year due to a rough shipment. But it seem like it is ready to settle in and have a good year.

Always keep this one in a pot if you want to see stunning orange fall colours , plant it out and it won't show only good for growth in the ground.

Mine from 2015 a US import from a well known nursery in Salem 10 were imported into the UK and i managed to get the last one!! Fall colour Oct 2015 then planted straight out and never shown since, second pic from May 2019 managed to get some good growth and shape to it now, very interesting leaf shape and colour as well. , has one more year in the ground then it's coming up late 2021 and then the following fall we should see it's spectacular colours again.

Beautiful! You are so right about the leaf shape and color. Mine will stay potted for another year or two. Then the ground it go for growth. How much sun does it get?

Oh yeah, 80% of my trees have come from Salem.

Gets about 75% sun from early morning to early afternoon , then protected by various buildings etc in the late afternoon.
