This is a plant with outstanding fall color and what appears to be good spring color. The red at the base of the leaf is an unexpected showing for spring as this color comes back in the fall at the palm of the leaf and either radiates out into the whole leaf or is mixed with bright orange and yellow. I don't expect it to last long this spring, but it is a nice addition.
The leaves emerge tinged in orange-red and mature a deep green. This cultivar is quite different in that the fall colors are reddish-orange rather than the typical gold-yellow of most of the green leaf forms. (In this picture, the Green Hornet leaf has been placed on top of a different cultivar. It is not a 2-toned plant!)
