I don't get it. How does that link address Alex's query regarding the provenance of AP 'Ginga'?

    K Baron,

I received this message from Specimen Trees in response to query regarding 'Ginga':

"Regarding Acer Palmatum Ginga, no idea, cant find it in my library.

Are you confused about the theme of this thread?

    Alex,

Wonderful tree!! I saw this on Maliot (or maybe it was Esveld) site and wanted one, so I put it on my wish list for Diana at Topiary Gardens. She can import from Europe from time to time, so in a few years maybe we can have this one in the States!

    Thanks!

Picked up from Iconic Gardens last month, already starting to leaf out (guess Oregon didn't get as cold as we did this winter, lol). Can't wait to see it side by side with Manyo no sato... :) Pretty 'whippy' though, definitely going to have to stake the branches this year so the Kansas wind doesn't knock the tree senseless.

So far I'm liking this cultivar; can't wait to compare it to Manyo no sato.

I have one someplace in my mess of maples. I remember seeing the name but i do not believe it had any leaves at this time.

You can try Buchholz Nursery site since that is who i got the tree from.

I'm guessing it's because the tree is still young and going through 'growing pains', but thus far, it has some of the most varied leaf shape/color I've seen...
