Hi I have a problem with a 10 year old acer palmatum ,it has started to weep sap from the trunk about 6 inches above ground level a few weeks ago half the leaves dried and shrivelled now the rest have dried. The sap is still weeping and there appears to be some yellow fungus on the trunk. Can anyone give any advice to cure or should I remove it to prevent spreading to my other acers ?
    Many Thanks James
