13th April 2021 and after a hard overnight frost, here is my Bloodgood. I do spray at night and in the early mornings during frosts, hence the wet look.

I was missing a good red in my collection, so I ended up getting my Bloodgood this week and I am in love. Such a pretty tree, and makes a lovely contrast with Moonrise:

That is beautiful Xi. You must be so pleased. And tbh every collection should have a Bloodgood...

Those reds will continue as long as it gets plenty of sun. Such a moody colour atm. Wonderful Xi.

23rd June 2021 and my Bloodgood is now doing quite well. It was moved in early 2020, so taken this long for it to settle into it's new position. I'm very pleased how it's turning out.

Still my favourite pairing of trees in my garden. Moonrise and Bloodgood:

More Bloodgood contrasting against the vivid green of Moonrise:

April 7th 2022 and a nice start to the season for my Bloodgood. The leaves are looking rather nice this year. Very blood like..overnight rain and a bright morning helps though.

You've beaten me again Xi. I agree though it looks a good year for Bloodgood. 2022 a year for the old cultivars perhaps !!?

My first Acer, lost a central branch this year from a stray pub umbrella which made its way over. Hopefully it bounces back just fine, I’ll have to rework its form I think over the next few years now that leader has been lost.

26th April 2022 and time for my Bloodgood to make an appearance. It's taken two years to settle in to it's new position, so I hope it could be a good year.

Such a solid, unfussy tree. One of my favourites: it just gets on with things and is happy with whatever conditions it's in as far as I can tell!

I hope the new member Donald @Donald Dunn will see a true deep dark red of a Bloodgood as your is Xi. He was asking about this cultivar, and Atropurpureum earlier.

It's a consistent performer, isn't it? My Atropupureum tends to be a bit needy and the colour isn't as special, in my opinion, but my Bloodgood just puts out these gorgeous dark colours every year with a minimum of fuss. Love this thing!
