   This cultivar was introduced by Doremus nursery in Warren, Tx. 'Baton Rouge' is french for 'red stick'. It is very similar to Sango kaku, but fall color is a bit more into the dark golds and light oranges, while Sango kaku for me is lighter. I've seen this also sold as 'Red Stick'.
