Acer palmatum 'Ariaki Nomura'

I have had this cultivar for 30 years now and it never disappoints. A vigorous grower that needs to be kept on top of if you don't have too much room.
Mine is planted in early sun and full afternoon and evening shade, it still gets some scorch to the tips even here. Two photos Summer and Autumn.

 

This is my 30 year old Acer palmatum 'Ariaki nomura '. I have posted it today 17th July 2020 as it is changing colour for Autumn 'now'. It has never done this before, so I thought I would create a thread to allow others to see it's progress this year.
It has been in the same position for the past 30 years, morning sun and afternoon shade. Nothing different.

 

29th July 2020 and my Ariaki Nomura is holding up well, even after strong drying winds yet again these last few days. What a year!!

 

Several people on the forum have shown a lot of interest in my Ariaki Nomura and have asked for regular updates, so here it is on August 2nd 2020.

 

11th August 2020 still very hot and in fact yesterday was the hottest I've ever seen in my garden. Ground temperature hit 48° C by my trees.
They are all now suffering. But I will continue the Summer diary as requested.
Now the cobwebs are here, I enjoyed taking a photo of my Ariaki Nomura this morning.

August 15th 2020, the photo diary continues as promissed. Everything apart from just a few have held up very well. The heavy rain over the past couple of days has helped a lot. I think we will get a reasonable Autumn show this year fingers crossed.
Arikai Nomura is an old tree in my garden, I planted it 30 years ago and it performs well every year.

 

Well it's the last day of August 2020 and as we have had a lot of rain and cooler weather here in England over the past two weeks, all my maples are doing well for the time of year.
So many people love this one, calling it a beauty, I just know it as my rather old Ariaki Nomura, that never fails me.

 

5th September 2020 and the diary continues, each day has a new colour on the leaves now. And tbh some rather strange colours this year.
Now a close up of my Ariaki Nomura, so pretty IMO.

 

8th September 2020 and the heat is returning, but very cloudy. My maples will enjoy this as long as there is no more new growth.
The full tree today, looking very delicate and pretty IMO.

 

13th September 2020 and the sun is shining and it is getting warmer and warmer once again. So I hope my photo conveys this lovely near Autumn day.

 

18th September 2020 and a picture of the whole tree as requsted yesterday. Really pleased with the colours and condition this year on my Ariaki Nomura.

 

22nd September 2020 and tbe Autum Equinox is here and so are the changes. My old faithful is looking so nice in the early sunshine. Never let's me down.

 

29th September 2020 and my Ariaki Nomura is in full flow of the change to Autumn.

 

8th October 2020 and the morning sun after a night's rain is making my Ariaki Nomura fulfil it's promise.

 

22nd October 2020 and my Ariaki Nomura is now full Red. My best coloured maple this Autumn.

 

23rd October 2020 and this one is for D @LoverOfMaples, as I promised a few months ago I would post one of the whole tree in it's full Autumn colours.

26th October 2020 and now even brighter. This is my star tree more often than not every Autumn.

 

24th January 2021 and what a contrast from the Autumnal show in October. But IMO just as pretty.

 

6th April 2021 and I thought I would post this here this morning as we had -3°C here overnight and to show that this is a strong cultivar. As can be seen in my posting in January as well.
The buds are still swelling and getting ready for Spring.

 

25th April 2021 and now my Ariaki Nomura is really getting underway. This is one of my older trees in my collection and it has never let me down.

 

3rd May 2021 and my Ariaki Nomura is now colouring up beautifully. This cultivar is one of the strongest in my collection and has been with me for 30 years now.
