Here are some photos of an Aratama as teh leaves open up for spring 2012. It has quite a different color based on being in the sun or the shade. I find it best to have it in a lot of sun.
Not such a popular cultivar this one but I like it, it gets going early and fills some gaps in the garden before everything else arrives.
27th April 2023 and my Aratama is doing very well this morning. The subtle shades of pinks and reds make this cultivar very special in Spring.
24th March 2024 and my little Aratama didn't make it through the Winter, so here is it's replacement.
