Here is a small Acer palmatum 'Ao kanzashi', grafted in the summer of 2002. the image on the left was made in April 2003. The image to the right was made in June 2003.

Ao kanzashi, about 12 years old, fall color in Louisiana.

 

Good afternoon @campbtl, is that your own Ao kanzashi ? If so, you are a very lucky person, as it's a stunner.

 

Yes, it is. It was a Brian Upchurch graft that I picked up as a 1 gallon in 2007. Not the brightest for fall color ever, but it's so big now that it makes an impact anyway.

 

Definatly an impact, and as you have brought it on over the years, you should be very proud of yourself. Very impressed.
