But the Amber is coming through nicely Xi. It's also loving those rain drops.

2nd July 2021 and my Amber ghost is more red now. Definatly faster than last year turning this colour.

Looking lovely N. Mines doing the same, my only concern is this 30°C + heat on tender new leaves. Next week looks better though.
So far so good, it is in pretty much full shade though now so hopefully they'll be fine.
While the old leaves are quite dull and crispy now, they just make all the better a contrast with that new growth:
This little guy is developing some stunning colour as the year onfolds. I think it's my favourite in my garden right now.

Funny to see how bright the new growth colour was at the start of the month, and how quickly it's darkened over the last few weeks:
Amber Ghost has darkened even more, now almost black-leaved under the morning dew. So interesting to see the range of colours one leaf goes through during its lifecycle:
