Not many pictures of this one. I'll add a few of my new one. I'm hoping it's going to do ok, it's in only a 7 gallon but it's about 8' tall. I think the stress is why it's getting its early fall colors. Beautiful tree, I hope I can save it. Any advise on what to do when planting such a root bound plant would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Rufretic, I just saw your last post and I happened to just picked up this same tree last weeken (5gal and about ~7' tall). I know you have it for almost two yrs now, any tips on planting?. Is this tree preferred partial shade or can it be in full sun?. Are there any companion JM trees that you plant with her?. And how tall is it grow since?. Thanks, Steven
I just got it, you must have looked at my join date but I just posted about this tree. I don't know much about it yet but it's fall color right now is outstanding! I'll try to take some updated pics before they drop.
Hi, sorry for my mistake about the date. Great, at least you can enjoy the color of your tree, right away. I planted mine in the ground over a week ago and have yet seen any color change yet. I hope I will see some this year like yours. Tks, Steven
Hi, recently I ran into a AJ tree named Meitgetsu Itaya (large leaf). Is it the same as the Meigetsu that we have been discussed in this thread or it is the brother/sister of the Meigetsu?. Thanks
I am not answering Atapi's question from 2015. I was just at the Washington Arboretum in Seattle and noticed these male flowers on a tree labelled Acer japonicum 'Meigetsu', wanted to contribute my photo demonstrating the A. japonicum hairiness and thank the folks who have posted the rest of the tree so I could see what it was going to look like.
