This one is a new one for me, so I thought I’d create a new thread for it since there isn’t one yet. I have bought and planted it this winter. It is supposed to get really big leaves and great fall colour, as the japonicums are known for.

Never seen this one before M, so I'm going to be watching this thread closely.
So far it looks like it's going to be a winner for you.

Thanks D, yes I am also very curious to see how the leaves will develop during the seasons and how it handles sun. It is supposed to be a seedling of Vitifolium as I understand it. I will keep you updated!

An update on my Indian summer. It is in full sun all day and is handling it quite well as it has only recently been planted out. I like its fresh green summer color.

It's looking wonderful M. I wonder if the name will be changed as Indian Summer comes from the saying of native Indians... ??? So much is changing atm, so this could be another.

Yeah even though it is not always clear what makes them select a cultivar name. In this case I do feel it is good name, marketing wise. I interpreted it as it was maybe given this name due to beautiful fallcolors or something like that.

My Indian Summer is filling in nicely and is starting to get the big leaves it is known for. I am hoping for some nice fall colour this year!
