I live in Moraga, Northern California. 4 years ago I planted an acer griseum maple tree that hasn't changed its colors during the fall season. Can I do something to make this happen? I purchased the tree for its coloring! Thank you.
use mature fertilize of cow or horse and around the trunk put pine bark..however the really fall color are present after many years in your zone ;)
Thanks Alex. This brings me a lot of hope!! I will certainly follow your directions. The tree is planted in lawn area but with no lawn around it. I wonder if this is ok? Thanks so much, Olga
I also live in California and was wondering if your paperbark maple goes dormant and loses its leaves or if it remains evergreen year round. Thanks!
Loses its leaves in winter. SF should be a very good climate for it although I wonder how it will color if you are in the Sunset.
