J. Frank Schmidt & Son Co. introduction. From their website: Superior branch structure, upright and uniform shape, predictable performance and speedy growth are among attributes of this Paperbark Maple cultivar. Bark coloration and exfoliating character are outstanding, as is the quality of dark green foliage that turns brilliant red in autumn. Purchased and planted in August 2021. Pictures taken December 2021. So far the bark is dull brown and not remarkable. Hoping this changes once it is established.
Griseums take a few years to really show off that wonderful peeling bark, so 2023 onwards it will be amazing. Looks pretty good now IMO. Love the snow on the branches, good photo. D
