    Hello

I have a container acer about 12 years old, i have noticed on the trunk and some main branches there are raised spots of fluffy white (looks like mould) stuff with a brown top, when i wiped one off the trunk it was sticky, can anyone tell me what this is and should i treat it.

    Many thanks

    Lisa from the UK

On Acers in the UK it is normally Horse Chestnut Scale, Pulvinaria regalis.
