Last year I planted an Acer campestre ‘Carnival’ On the north side of my home where it is protected from prevailing winds and the heat and strongest sunshine. In spite of these precautions, it has scorched badly both last and this summer. It is on drip irrigation and receives adequate moisture. What is going on and what can I do to further protect this lovely small tree? Salmon Arm, BC CDN Zone 5b.
@Harhan, good morning and welcome to the maples forum. I think it would help if you posted photos of your tree. This would enable members to see what is going on and hopefully give you answers. Just to add many Acers have suffered from the heat this year and have more leaf scorch than in previous years. Leaf scorch is a fact of life with trees when they suffer heat stress, but do not worry, being deciduous they will loose these in Autumn and new ones will form in the Spring. I have attached a link here on how to attach photos if you are not sure. Attach photos and files
