Re: acer buergerianum Goshiki shidare Beautiful pictures, thank you Alex. I too just bought this maple, (which is in a pot but only just leafing out here), but I am confused by the name. Esveld lists it as "Goshiki shidare." However Vertrees lists a beurgerianum called Goshiki kaede, which looks like the pictures above. The World Checklist has no beurgerianum called Goshiki shidare (which is listed as a palmatum synonymous with Toyama nishiki) and a japonicum (which is also synonymous with palmatum Toyama nishiki. Maybe.) Anyone have any insight into the name employed here? Thanks! -E

Not to play devil's advocate, but I just saw A.b. 'Goshiki shidare' available at a respectable European nursery. They say it is suppose to be much more varieated than 'Goshiki kaede'. Thoughts?
I just spent some time searching and could not find it available at any European nurseries with the name Acer buergerianum 'Goshiki shidare', do you have a link to the nursery?
