Are there housekeeping chores that users should be doing periodically in their accounts?
    * Should a thread subscription be deleted once the thread has been archived?
    * Should an attachment be deleted once the post has been archived?
    * How can we tell when something has been archived?

Nope, no housekeeping at this stage. We had the small difficulties a few months ago re: running out of room, but those have all been cleared up, and the forums software is running on the garden's new web server, while the forum data is running off a separate database server. With the move to the new servers, we've plenty of room for the foreseeable future.

The forums data currently takes up 1.26 GB, of which attachments represent 1.17 GB.

Of those attachments, the photos from UBC BG take up roughly 40% - all of those will be taken out of the forums one day and moved into a proper image software system, but when that day will come, I don't know.

(the Archive link at the bottom of each page is really a "Search-engine spiderable archive" - friendly links for search engine robots to index the site)
