I am growing both Euturpes Edulis and Espiritos Santos in Southern California in sunset zone 24. There are mature palms here that are seeding of the Edulis. E. Precatoria and Olearcea require a true tropical climate to survive.

joeOC: I'm looking at the Euterpe oleracea. Placing it in a heated greenhouse for the winter. Been doing a bit of research on this one, I understand The best temperature for growing Acai is between 75-85 degrees with high humidity and gentle air movement
they also need light shade when young. The Palm was introduced on msn.com a few weeks ago. I found it somewhat interesting an decided to give it a try. Any growing tips would be appreciated it will also be grown in a container. Dale
