We have lots of wild saskatoons on our place and wonder if pruning them would be
a worthwhile thing to do. In our case we try to keep the bears away from them and the garden and so far its working but last year most of them didnt produce much fruit. would pruning hurt them? and how much or better, how to go about it.?

You might see an improvement from mulching and watered those in cultivated areas. I wouldn't cut any of them back.

Wild saskatoons can be extremely variable in their fruit production - some years are bumper crops, other years, almost nothing. I'm not sure what the triggers are, though.
