I have/had a really nice, 2 meter tall, Korean Fir (Abies koreana) that I purchased in February 2008. It was planted in well-drained soil where it receives filtered light in the morning and afternoon sun. It seemed to be taking root and doing quite well – adding new growth, etc. In late October we noticed that the bottom branches seemed to be dying. Since then all but the top third meter seems to be dying from the inside of the branches out toward the ends. We have looked for spider mites or other obvious insects but can find nothing.
Any suggestions about what might be killing this beautiful tree would be most appreciated.

Doesn't sound good. Check for Adelges insects on the bark. Can you post a photo?
