I'm calling this wild because I certainly didn't plant it. I have taken a picture, but since I can't seem to post it here I will try to describe it. This plant is now about a foot tall and it has strong stems. It has spade-shaped leaves (sort of heart-shaped but with pointier top lobes) with very bright white, very small white clustered flowers that seem to flower at the base of the leaf. It is growing more like a tree (single trunk) than a bush, but it's new so I have no idea. It sprouted in a protected area, between my house and a statue that blocks the sprinklers. It gets maybe an hour or two of sun a day. It's in an alcove, so it also gets little wind and rain. I live in zone 5b-6. Any clues?

It doesn't look like the pictures of arrowhead I found online. I was thinking that the only way it could be buckwheat would be maybe from cleaning out a birdcage within 5 feet of where this thing sprouted early in the summer?? Wendy

ps for Kiev: The question marks in my reply were actually "spiseeba" - the Cyrillic letters weren't recognized.

Aha... so you have typed thank you (spasibo) in Russian.
    You are welcome.
And I did not guess the questionmarks are Cyrillic characters just not displayed correctly...

Odd! The software for this forum usually recognises Cyrillic:
